Holiday Preparations in Full Swing May 14, 2023
On Friday, we made a productive trip to IKEA – after all, you can't start planning your holiday too early! My best find was the transparent plastic bins with lids. These are going to be absolute organizational superstars during our vacation.
I've already thought through exactly how we'll use the bins:
- One bin for towels
- One for warm clothing
- Another for summer outfits
- One specifically for all the dog things
- One empty bin for dirty laundry as it accumulates
- And one for our kitchen utensils that we'll need in the cabin
Of course, our trusted picnic basket is coming along on the trip. I've already gone through it and given it a good once-over.
Then I made a purchase that made me chuckle: a camping toilet! Well, when you're in your mid-50s, you have to think practically. Who knows if we'll need to get up in the night, and the thought of trudging across a dark campground to the facilities isn't exactly appealing. So I ordered a stylish black box, complete with a canister for the small business and a little bucket with wood shavings for the bigger matters. An interesting investment...
When I look at my to-do list, I really have to laugh at myself and shake my head. The things I write down and how detailed I plan everything! But on the other hand: good preparation is half the battle, isn't it?
It's just fun to make all these practical preparations. Every little purchase and every point on my list brings us one step closer to our vacation. And when everything is well organized, we can enjoy our time in Denmark all the more!
