Our First Performance at the Nursing Home

Michael and I had our very first performance at the nursing home. We want to play music there for an hour once a month.

Our First Performance at the Nursing Home 22. November 2024

Today was a special day: Michael and I had our very first performance at the nursing home.

A completely new chapter for us - once a month we want to make music there for an hour, for elderly and sick people who long for closeness, for memories, and for music. So today was the beginning.

Michael played the accordion, and we sang together. Danish songs, folk songs, familiar melodies from the seventies and eighties. Much of it was initially unfamiliar to us - we had two months to build up a repertoire. It was a real challenge to learn all these pieces, rehearse them, and bring them to life musically.

But we made it. And we're happy and a little bit proud.

The residents listened, some sang along, others simply smiled or swayed gently. It was quiet and moving at the same time.

From now on, we want to be there every month on a Friday. And we hope that these hours of music will become small beacons of light - for the people there, and for us too.

It was quiet and moving at the same time.
