An Evening Full of Music, Community, and Recognition 24. Mai 2025
Thursday was the volunteer celebration—a festival for everyone in our region who volunteers their time.
It began with a church service, and what a service it was: Michael had his very first performance as an organist in the church. It was a special moment—for him, for me, for many of us who were there.
When he played the prelude, the atmosphere was so moving that some people even had tears in their eyes. It really was a truly special moment.
Afterward, there was a festive three-course dinner. And between the courses, we sang—as is the tradition here in Denmark. These community songs that bring everyone together, that radiate so much warmth and togetherness. And Michael accompanied these songs on the piano too—with dedication and skill.
He received so much praise, so much recognition. People came up to us, shook our hands, congratulated us, and told us how happy they are that we're here, that we're getting involved and want to become part of this community.
And right at the end, the pastor came up to me and asked if I would be willing to do the reading in the church at Whitsunday—in front of everyone. And I said yes without hesitation.
It was an evening that moved us deeply. An evening full of music, warmth, and genuine connection.
