Between Worry and the Glow of Lights December 2, 2024
Mieze is still doing poorly. I inject her every day, consult with the vet, observe every little change. She's alive - and sometimes I feel like things are moving forward a bit. Maybe I'm just imagining it. Maybe it's wishful thinking. But I'm holding onto it.
We've arrived deep into Advent season, and I'm making a real effort to bring a little warmth and light into our days. Every evening, candles burn at our place, I've already decorated a bit, and it's turned out really beautiful. It creates a wonderful atmosphere.
During the day, Mieze stays in her protected room. It's her retreat, her little kingdom. But at night - she gets to sleep with us. The other cats are in a different room so she can have her peace. And I notice how good that does her. She's right close to us then, watching us, seeking physical contact. She needs this closeness - and we need it too.
At school, another module test is coming up soon. I'm studying diligently because it matters to me. Understanding the language, speaking it - it's become a part of me. Even though everything feels difficult right now, I'm holding onto it: the hope, the light of the candles, small progress.
