This is so typical of Isabella. Ever since we moved to Denmark, she seems to think I suddenly have all the time in the world – and honestly, I'm almost always there for her.
That weekend, the Palm Sunday weekend, she was performing with the circus in Pløckhus. And as it often goes in circus life: they were short on helping hands. Her husband Bernhard was busy with another show, so she urgently needed support – ideally a strong man for setup and someone to handle tickets and popcorn.
And because she knows I can't say no, Michael and I spontaneously drove 70 kilometers to the North Sea and spent the last two days helping out at the circus.
It was a wonderful weekend. Exhausting, yes – cold, wet, full of rain. But also full of life, laughter, and beautiful moments.
In between, we sat with the other showpeople in the warm circus wagon, drank hot coffee, ate cake, and chatted. It was cozy, warm-hearted, a little piece of home in the middle of this traveling life.
Days like these are precious. And I think that's exactly why I keep saying yes.
