Family Visit and New Neighbors

Family visiting from Germany meets new neighbors from different countries - a day full of beautiful encounters and Danish traditions.

Family Visit and New Neighbors 26. May 2024

Yesterday, Daniel and Mona arrived with the children. They've rented a lovely holiday house with a pool in Bratten - a wonderful choice for their stay here.

We had lunch at our place yesterday, and in the afternoon we enjoyed a proper frokost, as is the custom here. It's always lovely to share this Danish tradition with guests and relax together over an extended midday meal.

Afterward, they settled into their holiday house, and I went with Michael and our Ebbi to visit the neighbors for coffee. We had made plans to get together, and we really had so much to talk about.

It's fascinating what stories people have: He's American and she's Danish, and the two of them lived in Berlin for many years and had their first child there. Such life paths show how international and interconnected our lives can be today.

Their little boy, meanwhile, has a couple of chickens that scratch about quite cheerfully at the forest's edge. These chickens lay the best eggs you can imagine - fresher and tastier is hardly possible.

It was a really lovely afternoon, relaxed and warm-hearted. And the best part: I had the feeling that our Ebbi is doing better again. After the worries of the past few days, that's a great relief.

It's fascinating what stories people have.
