Decision Made: It's the North Sea! March 17, 2023
The decision is made - we've chosen the west coast, which means the North Sea! An important aspect of this is the large German community living there, which I find quite advantageous. Especially in the beginning, that could be really helpful.
As for my initial concerns about medical care, I've learned quite a bit since then. It seems that medical services are at a similar standard throughout the country. What I find interesting is the emergency system: you don't just go to a hospital, but call an emergency number. Then they direct you to the right place and you get help without waiting - a system that apparently works very efficiently.
The house search is really making progress! Michael is in good contact with a real estate agent, and we've already found some really promising properties. One house in particular has stolen our hearts. It's a bit above our original budget, but it's truly wonderful. I'd love to buy it right now if I had the money available.
The next important step is selling Michael's parents' house. We're hoping that goes smoothly so we'll soon have enough capital for our house purchase in Denmark.
Despite choosing the west coast, I keep catching myself looking at houses by the Limfjord. The Limfjord, which separates North Jutland from the rest of Denmark, has a special appeal to me somehow. Maybe it's because you feel a bit closer to home there. That connection gives me a sense of security.
